Employment Benefits
Community Care is always looking for ways to improve the advantages of working for our Agency. Listed below are the major benefits we have today.
Health Insurance: Community Care currently contracts with Aetna to provide its generous health insurance package. All full and part-time high employees are eligible to receive complete health care coverage. Full-time, single coverage is between $28 and $60 per month, depending upon insurance level options chosen by the employee. Family members and domestic partners may be added at an additional cost, which is paid through payroll deduction.
Dental Insurance: All full and part-time
high employees are eligible to receive dental coverage. Full-time,
single coverage premium is paid 100% by the Agency with part-time high employees paying 50% of the
premium. Family members and domestic partners may be added at an additional cost, which is paid through payroll deduction.
401(K) Safe Harbor Retirement Program: As of October 1997, Community Care began providing a 401(k) tax-deferred investment plan. The current plan is managed through John Hancock. From their first day of employment, eligible employees (as defined by IRS guidelines of 21 years of age and 1,000 hours worked in a year) can begin participating in the 401(k) tax-deferred investment plan through payroll deduction. After one year of employment, employees who
participate in the retirement program are eligible for an employer contribution. The Board of Directors annually determines an agency's contribution on a discretionary basis. Currently, Community Care provides an employer contribution match of 100% on the first 3% of employee contributed salary, and a 50% match on the next 2% of employee contributed salary.
CarePET is one of Community Care's most exciting employee benefits. The employees themselves created CarePET (personal earned time), which is a non-traditional way of accruing time off. Rather than having vacation, sick and holiday time, Community Care has created a PET system that combines them into tow: Vacation and
Personal. The major benefit of the plan is increased flexibility in how you choose to take time off. Employees accrue CarePET time based on their exemption status and whether they are
full-time or part-time high. Unlike many companies and agencies, even part-time employees who work at least 24 hours per week accrue CarePET. With proper notice to their supervisor, employees may use this time for vacation, extended bereavement, holidays, sick time, as well as for many other uses.
CareFLEX is a Flexible Benefit plan with Section 125, Health and Dental Insurance Premium Deferment, and Section 129 Dependent Care Deferment. Employees can set aside money from their earnings, tax-free, to be used for qualified medical and dependent care expenses.
Other Benefits: We have many other benefits for employees including Agency-paid Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance and Short-term and Long-term Disability Insurances for all full and part-time high employees. Basic Life Insurance is provided at one time full and part-time high employee's annual salary to a maximum of $100,000. Supplemental and Dependent contracts with an outside entity to provide free, confidential assistance for employees needed support, guidance and resources for a
variety of lifetime challenges including Work/Career Planning, Financial/Legal, Wellness, Family Relationships and Work/Life Balance.
